Melphalan hydrochloride ( Alkeran®) occurs as chemotherapy drug belonging to the class of alkylating agents. These are utilized primarily to handle multiple myeloma and ovarian cancer, and from time to time malignant melanoma. Otherwise called L-Phenylalanine Mustard, or even L-PAM, alkeran occurs as phenylalanine derivative of mechlorethamine.

Administration
Oral examination or even endovenous; dosing varies by purpose & route of administration too when patient weight.

Side effects
Most common side results include: Nausea and vomiting Bone marrow suppression, including Decreased white blood cell count causing increased risk of infection Decreased platelet count causing increased risk of bleeding

Less most common side results includ: Severe allergic reactions Scarring of lung tissue (ordinarily exclusively by using prolonged apply) Hair loss Rash Itching
